Who am I?
My name is Carrie and this website is a fun collaboration with my two daughters, Ella and Sierra. We are Americans living in Singapore, and we’ve also lived in Vietnam and Malaysia. Visiting more than 20 countries in the past 10 years has given us an opportunity to try all kinds of interesting cuisine. My daughters have different dispositions, but both have curious, open minds and a willingness to try (almost) anything. I can’t take all the credit, but I’m happy to share some tips and ideas to expand your kids’ taste horizons.
Even though I enjoy cooking and use chopping vegetables as a form of mediation, I don’t like to spend hours in the kitchen. I get frustrated with dishes that are too complicated or require too many ingredients. With this little project, we will share recipes from all over the world that we’ve modified to make them easier to prepare. There are tons of other websites with truly authentic recipes, so you will have no problem if you want to take things to the next level.
I’ve worked for large advertising agencies in San Francisco, Chicago, Minneapolis, Malaysia and Singapore and I’m now looking forward to creating something of my own. It’s a bit scary to put your own content out into the world, but it’s fun to have a few young partners in crime. All three of us have a passion for cooking, traveling, and entertaining. I don’t have any special culinary training, but I participate in cooking clubs, take courses with resident chefs, explore local food and am always scouring the Internet for new dinner inspiration. My daughters love photography and creating videos. Seems we make a great team!
